Luke Cage Episode 1 Podcast “Moment of Truth” Spoiler filled Synopsis
Written by Cheo Hodari Coker
Directed by Paul McGuigan
After the destruction and loss of his bar in Hell’s Kitchen a penniless Luke Cage (Mike Colter) moves back to Harlem. He takes on two low-key jobs one at Pop’s Barbers and the other as a kitchen hand in a local club as he tries to figure out what to do next and so as not to draw unnecessary attention to his powerful new abilities. However, Harlem is in flux as rival gang leaders Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes (Mahershala Ali) and Diamondback seek new partnerships and to influence the political campaign of Mariah Dillard (Alfre Woodard). As Luke is forced front of house at Cottonmouth’s Club, Harlem’s Paradise, he encounters Diamondback’s enforcer, Shades (Theo Rossi), that brings back painful memories of his time in Seagate Prison. Meanwhile an important money exchange between the two gangs is crashed by Shameek (Jermel Howard) and Chico (Brian ‘Sene’ Marc), both known to Luke Cage. As retribution falls on Shameek and Cottonmouth attempts to recover his money, Detectives Misty Knight (Simone Missick) and Rafael Scarfe (Frank Whaley) investigate the series of killings linked to the failed money exchange and Luke Cage becomes increasingly embroiled in the Harlem scene as an unwilling defender.
