New all age comics for June 21, 2017

June 23, 2017

Hello summer! While school may have been out for some of us, it’s officially summer for everyone in the Northern Hemisphere; school has been out for us for almost a month-so welcome to the party! Side note: happy winter to all of our readers in the Southern Hemisphere. This week in new all age comics is very driven by television. Most of the comics out this week have a hand somewhere on television, but also in comic books. Here are 5 all age comics out this week that will keep you happy without worrying about the content.
Lilo & Stitch
Lilo & Stitch celebrate 15 years after their cinematic release this year. This week has At The Movies #2: Lilo & Stitch with all new tales about a shipwrecked alien on Hawaii in a 48 page all color comic book.
Mad Magazine
Mad Magazine is published every other month and is fun reading for kids 12 and up. Some of the language is too salty for young readers and some of the topics (like political figures or questionable pop culture icons) might be too much for some readers. Back when I was a kid it was just silly, stupid fun. However, the past couple issues I’ve read seem to concentrate too much on older readers or an agenda. Still, teens might dig Mad Magazine for its classic reputation.

Rocky & Bullwinkle
If it worked for Mr. Peabody and Sherman, then why not Rocky & Bullwinkle? Pull a rabbit out of a hat, see clumsy Russian spies and a squirrel and moose make fun of it all. Rocky & Bullwinkle is an all age comics treat that will light up kids 4 and up.
Super Sons
Super Sons is one for kids ages 7 and up. It’s the sons of Batman and Superman as they discover powers, fight evil, get into trouble and be kids. Parents might roll their eyes at this title, but kids will love it.
Space Battle Lunchtime
There’s another ‘cooking chef alien’ comic book out there, but Space Battle Lunchtime does it so much better. This is one of those all age comics that blends action with humor and all age elements so well you don’t realize you’re reading something that could’ve been written and drawn much older. This is volume two that has the final issue of this fabulous mini-series in graphic novel form.
