3607 – March 25, 2025 – TOUGH PEOPLE PERSEVERE – American Exceptionalism: Who Are the Real Tough People? With all the rhetoric of politics, they would have all of us average Joes and Janes believe, that the elected, the media talking heads and bureaucrats are the only ones who have any “smarts.” While they do think very highly of themselves, they do not think highly of America or of us regular hardworking Americans.

This nation was built by what they might call average Americans, but I tell you right now, hardworking Americans are far from average. We are the ones with grit and determination. We are the ones who will try the impossible, fail and try again and again until we succeed.

Take the panel of talkers on The View – which one of those women would you hire to actually do a job? Do you think any of them has ever gotten dirt under their fingernails or sore muscles from hard work? Fresh out of high school I went to work at what was then, Chesebrough Ponds, now named Unilever. I worked nights (11pm to 7am) on an assembly line of sorts, I ran 3 Q-Tip machines. After working and standing all night on the hard concrete floor, I knew what sore muscles when leg cramps were when they woke me from my exhausted sleep. A year later, I married; my husband was a farmer and again, I knew what hard work, dirty work and long hours were.

Tough people rejoice at the birth of a new life… and cry when a life is taken… Cowards celebrate death. Tough people (Americans) don’t quit, they Persevere. When the economy is BAD they tighten their belts… they do without… and keep going. When violence is in the neighborhood they band together and watch out for each other.

Nothing makes me prouder here than to know… I’m in the company of tough people! YOU!
