Episode XLIV: New Buds of Spring (a very northern hemisphere episode)

April 16, 2018

In this episode, Chris and Mike discuss how plants prepare for winter and what happens once spring begins again.  Plants have developed many techniques for preparing for winter time, including storing all their sugars in their roots, in bulbs, or in their trunks.  These stores of food allow them to jump start growth as soon as conditions become favorable again for photosynthesis to occur.

We have another live show on May 18, this time in the historic Hotel Oregon in downtown McMinnville, OR.  Join us for an afternoon discussing the implications of life on other planets and how difficult it would be to travel to other solar systems.
