In 2008 Platinum Dunes set out to further solidify their position by unifying with New Line Cinema and Paramount Pictures to bring a new vision of one of the biggest horror franchises of the 80's. The production enlisted Damian Shannon and Mark swift to weave a story that encompasses elements of the first four features as well as bringing back Marcus Nispel to Direct.
