No Child Left Behind Law May Get a Facelift

School administrators and other education groups could get an early Christmas gift if Congress overhauls the controversial 2002 education law known as No Child Left Behind. Derided over its standardized tests and accountability measures, the law could be reshaped by a Congress that's more eager to cut deals on elementary and secondary school accountability and shift responsibility to the states. The legislative text of the measure looking to replace the No Child Left Behind law was released November 30.
