Dragon’s Scentsational Day Excerpt:
The day was nearly perfect, Dragon thought, while lumbering along the forest trail. The pine needles felt spongy beneath Dragon’s feet, and they cast a fresh scent in the air. Blips of sunlight dappled the ground and appeared to glitter as the tree branches swayed in the delicate breeze. In the distance, Dragon noticed the incessant chirp of a red winged blackbird amidst a chorus of frogs.
Dragon glanced down, and immediately spotted a trail of industrious ants, some carrying items far bigger than their tiny bodies. Ducking down to observe the colony more closely, Dragon smiled. For being such miniscule creatures, the ants were one of the hardest working inhabitants of the Ahway Island Forest. They lifted objects that were many times bigger than they were and carried them over long distances, working as a team to build their nest and feed their community.
