480. The New Waterfall: a calming meditation and kid’s story

March 28, 2025

Rain falls in the forest, filling up Brooke, the little stream. But then she has an idea for what to do with all the fresh water!

Hello everyone!  We hope you enjoyed our new stories this week. Now, welcome to Favorite Friday! Sometimes we like to listen to our favorites again. Please enjoy “The New Waterfall” and we’ll be back with a new story on Monday!

Narrator: Female

Story Begins: 11:15

The New Waterfall Excerpt:

The sound of rain pitter-pattering filled the air, as the clouds slowly released their drops of water over the lush green forest. Raindrops were falling everywhere. All the animals scurried to find places to stay dry and listen to the rain. Most of the animals loved the sound of falling rain. It was so comforting! The sound was so soothing that the little bunnies curled up together under a pine tree to take a nap. The squirrels found it fun to watch the drops fall onto the ground.

For the lively squirrels, it was especially fun to watch the rain splash into the puddles and into the stream that flowed gently through the cozy forest. The stream’s name was Brooke, and all the animals loved her very much. They always felt grateful to her for the fresh water she gave them to drink, for the scenic beauty she gave to the forest, and for the lovely music of her rushing waters. Today, Brooke herself was feeling refreshed as the newly fallen rain filled her banks. In fact, she was beginning to feel a little full now – a little too full, actually. It had been raining a lot lately. What could she do? The water was nearly at the top of her banks.

Today’s Meditation: Imagine floating in a tranquil pool, safe and relaxed, as the water rocks you gently.
