Matthew 19:1-12
A group of religious leaders (Pharisees) came to JESUS and asked him about the differing views on divorce between prominent rabbis Shammai and Hillel. Shammai interpreted the Scriptures to state that a man could divorce his wife only if there was sexual immorality. Hillel taught that it was permissible to get rid of her for any reason.
