Emotional Freedom Technique - EFT
I am certainly not the typical role model - the college educated, good job, never-done-a-thing-wrong type a person. No, my life has been a bit more twisted and a lot more interesting! My journey has been one of extremes. I found out through healing my own pain that to change something you have to change yourself first.

Who is Kai Ashley? Notes From Street Recovery

Editor's Note: Skeptics fasten your seat belts - because Kai Ashley will challenge your thoughts about self-improvement and self-discovery.  Quite honestly she at first sounds altogether over the edge with an EFT technique that's as mysterious and disarming as EMDR but nevertheless works quite predictably for many biomedically-based treatment-refractory conditions. See the links below for references to Harvard research and articles that compare EMDR with EFT. Note the many references to PTSD, veterans health, addiction and even fibromyalgia. We should know about this tool, whatever our preoccupations with exactly how it works.

Kai's Story Of Trauma - Client Turned Coach

Originally from Australia, Kia is an expert in energy healing practices that powerfully reprogram the subconscious. In her work, she uses EFT and has developed a method that rapidly releases trauma trapped in the body for a lifetime, while permanently changing a person's thoughts and perspectives about themselves. It is very powerful and efficient work.
I had a lot to heal from. My early years were spent in a drug house with abusive, drug addicted parents. Fortunately, my grandparents took me away to live with them, but there was a lot of loneliness, resentment, unhappiness and low levels of abuse in the family. I was teased every day at school and developed chronic social anxiety - I was terrified of people. I had PTSD and was extremely reactive. I was always incredibly wild and would follow my own heart, which can be a strength but because I had no direction it got me into a lot of trouble.

It was at 22 years old that I had a full-on epiphany about the person I was - deceitful and incredibly mean - and I saw that my life would amount to nothing. Then began my journey into morality, increased self-awareness and personal responsibility. I became sober for almost 4 years and practiced Buddhism and meditation during those years. Rather than my life getting better, it descended into chronic fatigue without direction.

The doctors told me I would be sick forever and so I went home and healed myself within 6 months. I now know how to continue to move myself and others forward. But then was before I even knew what healing really was.
What Is EFT?
EFT means "Emotional Freedom Techniques" and is a powerful self-help method based on research showing that emotional trauma contributes greatly to a variety of disease states . Clinical trials have shown that EFT tapping is able to rapidly reduce the emotional impact of memories and incidents that trigger emotional distress.

Once the distress is reduced or removed, the body can often rebalance itself, and accelerate healing.[1]
EFT Research
EFT research includes investigators affiliated with many different institutions.

In the US, these range from Harvard Medical School, to the University of California at Berkeley, to City University of New York, to Walter Reed Military Medical Center, to Texas A&M University, to JFK University. Institutions in other countries whose faculty have contributed to EFT research include Staffordshire University (United Kingdom), Lund University (Sweden), Ankara University (Turkey), Santo Tomas University (Philippines), Lister Hospital (England), Cesar Vallejo University (Peru), Bond University (Australia) and Griffith University (Australia).
