027 Kayt Sukel – Manage Change and Risk

July 07, 2016

The Art of Risk - Lessons From The Front
There is great benefit to taking risks in both work and play—even when they result in you falling flat on your face
— Kayt Sukel
Brief About Kaye Sukel
Kayt Sukel knows about risk.  She often addresses taboo, risky subjects in her writing, including love, sex, out of body experiences, and adventurous single mother travel. Based in Houston, her work has appeared in a wide variety of publications including the Atlantic Monthly, New Scientist, and National Geographic Traveler. She is a frequent contributor to the Travel Savvy Mom website, as well as the Dana Foundation’s scientific publications. Her first book, This Is Your Brain On Sex: The Science Behind The Search For Love, bluntly asks the age-old question, “What is love?” from a neurobiological perspective.
Kayt is an edgy neuroscientist who writes about everyday experiences to add value and meaning to otherwise incomprehensible experiences.
Change Happens
Kayt today documents ways to manage change and evolve your life. Her new book, discussed in this CBJ/027 Episode, is about the science of risk taking: The Art of Risk - The New Science of Courage, Caution, and Chance.  Viewed from her more enlightened perspective, informed risk provides multiple learning opportunities.
If you know someone stuck in life, arrested in their concerns about next steps, please forward episode to provide an easy way to reflect upon fresh directions.

Your Next CoreBrain Journal Episode
028: Dr. Lawrence Afrin -   This CBJ/028 episode takes on the issue of the pervasive, yet often under-recognized, medical mystery of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, it's crippling, life-threatening effect, and it's absolute relevance in the evolution of mind science. Dr Afrin is refreshingly articulate and passionate about his work as one of the leading authorities in the world [my perception, not his PR] on this exceedingly complex condition. You may not understand some of our conversation - as you will hear me also asking for clarifications - but this coming episode is an absolute must for anyone with a complex untreatable biomedical condition.
