CLP 050 – Kurt Libby: App Business
On today's episode, I speak to Kurt Libby, a youth minister who launched his app creation business based on his needs as a youth minister. The website for his app is youthministrytracker.com.
Kurt has over 15 years experience in youth ministry, and taught at a public high school for 3 years. Six years ago, he made the shift to vocational ministry and has been the director of a non-profit youth center for 2 years.
On Building His App
Kurt connected with a developer friend to help solve some administrative pain points in his job and launched his Youth Ministry Tracker App in August.
Since August Kurt's App has generated aver 1500 sales and he has increased his email subscribers to 1,350.
I've tried a lot of things (Blogging, Web design, Facebook, etc) however, my success came when I decided to solve a pain point and outsourced the stuff that I wasn't good at.
I still get to do what I love and feel called to full time, and have created a supplemental income and helped a bunch of people on the side.
Advice to Lifestyle Entrepreneurs
Focus on finding your market's pain-points and solve them.
As you're finding those pain points, don't feel you have to be the one to solve the pain. The solution can created by someone else and you can be the middleman.
