Gender Stereotypes in Academic Science Contexts

April 01, 2013

Corinne Moss-Racusin, Postdoctoral Associate, Yale University Despite persistent gender disparity, no experimental research has investigated whether subtle gender bias may be contributing to the underrepresentation of women within the academic science community. In this talk, Moss-Racusin will discuss research providing the first evidence of such bias against female students, and highlight implications for academic meritocracy, diversity, and gender parity across science fields. The event is sponsored by The Clarke Forum for Contemporary Issues.
