Announcer: It’s time to LIFT your business and your life on the Circle Legal Business Fix-It Show with your hosts, Kelley Keller and Susan Gunelius. Learn how to build a business you love on a solid foundation that delivers the future you want for you and your family. Here are your hosts, Kelley and Susan.

Kelley Keller: Innovative companies, business owners, and families, welcome to the Circle Legal Business Fix-It Show where you will learn to LIFT your business and your life with help from recognized legal and business experts you can trust. I’m your host, Kelley Keller, coming to you from the iHeartMedia studios in Harrisburg and with me is my co-host, Susan Gunelius who is joining us remotely via video conference.

Susan Gunelius: Hi Kelley, how are you doing today?

Kelley: I’m doing great. Really, really looking forward to this show. Before we introduce David Meerman Scott, let me take a moment to remind our listeners that this show is all about building and maintaining a strong LIFT Foundation for your business. LIFT being the essential Legal, Insurance, Financial, and Tax building blocks of your business.

Without a strong foundation, you cannot seize great opportunities, and you cannot thwart problems that your business will inevitably face. It is certainly a critical component of your business’ life cycle strategy no matter what type or size your business. It’s also critical to legacy planning for your family.

And we have a treat for you today. Talking about a business expert you can trust, we have one today.

Susan: Yes, we do. We have David Meerman Scott with us today. He is an internationally acclaimed marketing expert and he’s the author and co-author of ten books, including four international best sellers. His books have been translated into many languages, and they’re used in university classrooms around the world. In fact, David’s most recent book is the updated fifth edition of The New Rules of Marketing and PR. That’s how popular that book is. It’s already in its fifth edition. It was just released in October and David is here to speak with us today.

I’ll tell you a little bit about David now. For most of his career, he worked in the online news business. He was Vice President of Marketing at NewsEdge Corporation which was sold to Thomson Reuters. He held executive positions in an electronic information division of Knight-Ridder, which at the time, was one of the world’s largest newspaper companies. And he even worked on a Wall Street bond-trading desk at one point in his career.

So he’s done a lot of different things related to business and marketing.
