Philadelphia fed's manufacturing index posted just 5.2%; consensus was tipping a bounce back from January's 6.3%.

US January Industrial Production Report came in at 0.2%; December's 0.1% decline was amended to 0.3%.

A quiet night: the Dow and S&P both +0.2%, DAX -0.25%, FTSE +0.6%; some news out of Greece but the markets took it in their stride.

FTSE +0.7%, DAX +0.4%, S&P +0.4%, Dow +0.3%; S&P at a record high, +2.0% for the week, Dow +1.1% for the week.

The US Federal Government deficit came in at $17.5 billion for January, narrower than consensus's $19 billion.

US national federation of independent business's index of small business optimisism dropped to 97.9 in Jan from December's 100.4.
