The Chicago Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and their President John Catanzara are driving a bus filled with their membership right off the COVID cliff with their ridiculous stance on the city's vaccine mandate.

Only the in the minds of the alt right cult that has taken over the FOP could anyone believe that vaccine mandates are anything new in America. The FOP leadership has had to at one time or another go to school in American at which time their parents had to disclose to the School, mostly run by the local government, the vaccine status of their children. If any of the current leadership has children they have done the same thing. I wondering why they felt comfortable disclosing the vaccine status of their children but are not comfortable disclosing their COVID 19 vaccine status? Yes, once again Catanzara's hypocrisy is very obvious.

The COVID 19 pandemic is the most serious health threat the world has faced in 100 years. The data on officer deaths in the line of duty in 2021 backs this up as COVID related deaths are almost 5 times greater than the next highest cause of death. If you add up the topic 15 causes after COVID you will see that COVID deaths are almost 3 times the total of the next 15 causes. Catanzara should be endorsing the mandate and motivating his members to get the vaccine so they can take steps to protect themselves, their families, and the communities they serve. This should not be an opportunity where the FOP is trying to extort money from the city in return for trying to protect their members. Breaking news just before we recorded says the Mayor has filed a complaint in Cook County Court against Catanzara and the FOP for “for engaging in, supporting and encouraging a work stoppage or strike.” (Craine's).
