In today’s episode, author Carrie Knowles, the 2014 North Carolina Piedmont Laureate for Short Fiction, reads from her forthcoming novel, “The Inevitable Past,” her novella, “A Garden Wall in Provence” and several stories from her short fiction collection entitled “Black Tie Optional.”

Carrie also writes short pieces for “Psychology Today” called “Shifting Forward” that captures her personal perspectives.

We start the show with a reading from “The Inevitable Past,” which is a fictional account of the woman who gave birth to Carrie’s father who Carrie never knew.
