Melody Wiseheart: How distracting is technology in the classroom?

In her two-pronged study, York University psychology professor Melody Wiseheart found that students’ test scores fell by 10 percent when asked to surf through Facebook, YouTube and their email while simultaneously trying to pay attention to a lecture.
