Mephibosheth was crippled, alone, and lived in fear for his life. As a relative of Saul, David could have wanted him dead. Instead, David changes his status, adopting him into his family and giving him a place at his table. We are reminded that all our stories are truly rags to riches stories, as God welcomes us to join Him at His table.
