Episode 75: Michael Gregory Walters
Michael Gregory Walters was 15-years-old. His friends and family called him Mikey. He would be murdered in his Indianapolis home. He was fatally shot in the head on June 25, 2019 and would die the next day.
Michael had his friends, loved music and had aspirations to one day become a successful musician. For unknown reasons, Michael didn’t expect to live a long life. He had told his mother he had concerns that his life might be in danger. But when pressed for answers, he didn’t give his mother any answers.
On June 25, 2019, Michael and a friend who used to live in the neighborhood were playing a video game in Michael’s room. An unknown person would shoot into Michael’s room. Michael was shot in the head. He was rushed to the hospital, but didn’t survive. He died the next day on June 26, 2019. Witnesses saw 4 people near Michael’s house when he was killed. The family and law enforcement know several people know what happened to Michael, but no one is talking.
For this episode, I spoke to Jessica Monday, who is Michael’s mother and I also spoke to Mary McCambridge (Mary Mac), a Grief and Bereavement Specialist, who also lost a child to homicide.
