The Reformed Theology Conference Starter Pack

November 24, 2014

Happy Thanksgiving!
For our third episode, I was a fanboy as one of my favorite preachers, Thabiti Anyabwile, joined me on the show. This might possibly be my favorite moment of 2014.

After talking to Thabiti about the many ministries and conferences he's been blessed to be a part of, we played another game of "Who Would Win?" and discovered that $1,000,000 doesn't matter to Thabiti as a nice piece of meat. We also talked about the hypothetical Thanksgiving food: Turduckenaconeak, which is turkey inside a duck, inside a chicken, wrapped with bacon and place inside a cow. (I need a fire and a knife)

Afterwards, we played a voicemail from The Super Theologian (@supertheologian). He asked us whether Christian artists should label themselves as "Christian artists" and where is the line of compromise drawn for those trying to distance themselves from the Christian labeling. Thabiti gives a excellent answer as we call for Christian artists to seek to spread God's fame, not their own.

We also talk about Jackie Hill Perry's new (and first) album, "The Art of Joy." It's an amazing album! You can download it for free (http://www.humblebeast.com/the-art-of-joy/) or buy it on iTunes (https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-art-of-joy/id926594359). It's well worth the $10! (Note: the closing music to this episode is the title track from this album.)

You can find out more about Thabiti Anyabwile on Twitter at @ThabitiAnyabwil. You can read his blog on TGC here: http://www.thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/thabitianyabwile/. I also encourage you to listen to his podcast, "Pastor&People" (http://thefrontporch.org/podcast/pastor-people/).
