Stages of Grief and How Gratitude Helps
Dedicated to those who are experiencing grief, loss, and/or transition. In this episode, Rosangel talks about the loss of her father and how gratitude helped her manage her inconsolable grief. Everyday for a year she shared a gratitude tweet on social media. In less than 29 days, she started to feel lighter and more peaceful inside. As a result #29daysofgratitude was born. Since 2009, Rosangel has shared this journey with thousands of people who have joined her on this 29 day journey. One day at a time.... One breath at a time. We invite you to listen here.
"One moment it feels like you are "on top of the world" and the next like you've crashed hard...
This is what it felt like for me when my father passed away back in Nov 2009. At that time, I had my dream job Line Producing, "MTV Teen Cribs", I was working for the best department at MTV and with the dream team. I was feeling elated!
It had taken about 11 years of hard work and many hours of sacrifices to get to that point. ;-D
And then, almost overnight, the rug was pulled underneath me. My father passed away.
It felt like the Universe had played an extremely cruel joke on me..
My fathers death forced me to "Stop"... And in that quiet, raw, cold, lonely place, I discovered something magical... gratitude and appreciation. I realized that I wanted to honor my father and his love. For an entire year, I tweeted a gratitude tweet."-
