Ps. Richard Green - Jesus is the Gift

July 28, 2013

Hebrews 11:6, when translated from the original Greek, says, “Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Anyone who comes to Him must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder.†Jesus is the reward. He is what we receive when we believe and accept His gift.

Do you need provision? John 6:35 say, “I AM the Bread of Life.†Jesus is your provision.
Do you need direction in life? John 8:12 says, “I AM the light of the world. Whoever follows me with NEVER walk in darkness.†Jesus is your direction.
Do you need an opportunity to happen? John 10:7 says, “I AM the door.†Jesus is the door that leads to ultimate opportunity. Any door He opens stays open.
Do you feel that no one cares for you, understands you, or has cared for you properly? John 10:14 says, “I AM the good shepherd.†Jesus takes care for you, loves you, and understands you.
Do you need refreshing and revival to keep walking the Christian life? John 11:25 says, “I AM the resurrection and the life.†Jesus is the revival.
Do you lack confidence in yourself or what you should be doing? John 14:6 says, “I AM the way, the truth, and the life.†Jesus is your certainty and your confidence.
Do you really want to produce fruit? John 15:5 says, “I AM the true vine. Anyone who abides in me will produce much fruit.†Jesus is your production.

“I AM†is God’s name—the name He gave Moses in Exodus 3:14. Matthew 18:18-20 tells us that whenever two or three people are gathered together in Jesus’ name, He is there amongst them. Church is the community where believers gather together, and in the midst of that gathering “I AM.†Jesus is in the midst of the community of believers, and where He is, all the things He promised are.
