Parliament’s back, so what?

September 26, 2019

With increasingly partisan views on Brexit and the respective parties’ policies on the subject we attempt to cut through the noise with Chris Hughes, former political researcher, now working for Cicero Group. In relation to the ongoing Brexit negotiations we explore whether the Conservatives are actively seeking no deal, whether they have a proposal to replace the Northern Irish backstop and whether the EU will ultimately be sympathetic to their overtures. Crucially we discuss whether any deal could actually get through Parliament. We discuss the newly formed Brexit policies at the respective Labour and Liberal Democrat conferences and how these are likely affect the balance of voting intention in the UK. And ultimately we ask, when will a general election take place?
