Guy Foster is joined by Simon Derrick, Currency  Strategist at BNY Mellon to discuss the global market ramifications of monetary policy past, present & future. They start with a discussion of inflation numbers from Japan and the Eurozone which could be enough to shake the confidence of the most evangelical devotee to quantitative easing.

They also discuss the seismic shift in pools of wealth controlled by Sovereign Wealth Funds. To introduce the topic we have an interview with Nick Tolchard, one of the co-chairs of Invesco’s Sovereign Wealth Group on the latest investment trends amongst these financial big beasts – issues which are particularly relevant given the decisions taken this week to loosen the pace of appreciation of Singapore’s Dollar and indeed the announcement that Sovereign-Owned Qatar Airways has become the largest shareholder in British Airways’ parent International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG).
