Freshtival is Back!
Freshtival 2022 is the subject today with Sayre Piotrkowski from Hen House Brewing, who joins Harry Duke and Herlinda Heras on Brew Ha Ha.
Freshtival is a Hen House event, “a celebration of the art of freshness” that reflects their mission statement. Covid stopped the Freshtival for a couple of years but it is back now for 2022.
Hen House Brewing makes extra efforts to enforce their standards of “second half beer quality.” That means their beer is never warm stored, all of their trucks are refrigerated and the beer goes directly into cold storage at delivery. This is an important distinction for Hen House in the craft beer competitive environment. “The rigors of time, temperature and travel make your beer less delicious.”
They expect 80 different breweries from as far away as Portland and San Diego at the Freshtival. There will be at least 50 beers to taste. All the beer they serve will have been made within seven days of the event. The Freshtival will be, in Sayre’s words, “…the largest variety of brewery-fresh beer ever poured in one place.”
The Freshtival takes place on June 25, 2022, 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at SOMO Village in Rhonert Park. Tickets are available on Eventbrite dot com. Ticket prices are lower for advance purchase.
Seismic Brewing and Tremor will be serving beer at the Freshtival. Herlinda asks if there will be any “whales” which means rare brews. Sayre thinks that term might apply to some of the breweries that will be there, which may be lesser known and make excellent beer. Diggy Dogs will also make their Sonoma County debut among others serving food.
