When I stumbled upon Anna Heimkreiter’s work on the web, I was immediately drawn to her beautiful art and the intriguing concept of feminine archetypes. Her website offered a feminine archetypes quiz to discover which one resonates with you. Turns out I am the Huntress archetype. No surprise there, given my love for freedom and independence!

Anna discovered these feminine archetypes on her journey of self-discovery and artistic expression. They are symbolic representations of divine feminine traits and roles, offering insights into diverse expressions of femininity that can guide personal growth.

She focuses on just seven archetypes, each one holding its own unique beauty and complexity:

Anna’s journey into the world of feminine archetypes began five years ago when a friend introduced her to masculine archetypes. This sparked her curiosity, and she went on to delve deeply into understanding the feminine side.

She resonated with the concept of the seven archetypes and found inspiration through Jean Shinoda Bolen’s book, Goddesses in Older Women, which explains these archetypes in connection to Greek mythology.

Her exploration led her to create an illustration series representing seven archetypes, the 7 feminine archetype quiz, and her archetype workbooks for self-exploration. Anna believes these feminine models help us understand ourselves better and inspire growth and empowerment.

We discussed how these archetypes can provide a roadmap for growth, for reflection on our developed traits or as aspirational models. Anna shared how embracing the lover archetype, which felt distant to her, enriched her life. Focusing on the strengths and shadows of these archetypes will help you understand your wounds and heal them.

Anna’s art and her explorations of the archetypes are closely entwined, providing an avenue for creative self-expression and growth. Creativity is more than just producing work; it’s a path for introspection and connection to your emotions.

Anna’s nomadic lifestyle has been inspired by the Huntress’s desire for freedom and adventure. Her travels started young, with long trips during her studies that spiraled into longer wanderings. Meeting seasoned travelers and experiencing various cultures fueled her desire to live without geographical confines.

Her experiences also include spiritual practices like meditation and yoga, which she explored more deeply during her time in Thailand. Anna’s spiritual path has included psychedelics as well, which have taught her about connection and introspection.

I was curious about how Anna supports her nomadic lifestyle. She explained that she now works remotely in marketing and her art provides additional income. By living simply and traveling slowly, she keeps her expenses surprisingly low.

Anna has developed a series of workbooks that delve into each of the seven feminine archetypes. These resources combine her love for introspection, psychology, and creativity. Each workbook provides exercises, journaling prompts, and frameworks to explore the archetypes, including their light and shadow sides.
