Order of Service: - Prelude - Hymn 397 - O Christ, Our Hope, Our Hearts' Desire: vv. 1-3 - Anthem: Blessed Be the God and Father S. S. Wesley: S.S. Wesley, 1810-1876 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed at the last time. But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation. Pass the time of your sojourning here in fear. Love one another with a pure heart fervently. See that ye love one another. Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away. But the word of the Lord endureth forever. Amen. 1 Peter 1:3–5, 15, 17, 22b, 23a, 24 - Prayer: P: Lord God, heavenly Father, You delivered Your Son for our offenses, and raised Him again for our justification: ALL: We beseech You, grant us Your Holy Spirit, that He may rule and govern us according to Your will; graciously keep us in the true faith, defend us from all sins, and after this life raise us to eternal life; through the same, Your beloved Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one true God, now and forever. Amen. - Anthem: Christ our Passover W. C. Mcfarlane: W.C. Macfarlane, 1870-1945 Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us: therefore let us keep the feast. Not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more: death hath no more dominion over Him. For in that He died, He died unto sin once: but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin: but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Christ is risen, is risen from the dead: and become the first fruits of them that slept. For since by man came death: by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die: even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: World without end. Amen. Alleluia.
