Order of Service: - Prelude - Hymn 448 - I Will Sing My Maker's Praises: vv. 1, 3, & 5 - 2 Corinthians 1: 3-6: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. Now if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. - Devotion - Prayer - Hymn - Jerusalem the Golden: Jerusalem, the Golden (CW Supplement #728) 1 Jerusalem the golden, With milk and honey blest— The sight of it refreshes The weary and oppressed: I know not, oh, I know not What joys await us there, What radiancy of glory, What bliss beyond compare: To sing the hymn unending With all the martyr throng, Amidst the halls of Zion Resounding full with song. 2 Oh, sweet and blessed country, The home of God’s elect! Oh, sweet and blessed country That eager hearts expect, Where they who with their leader Have conquered in the fight Forever and forever Are clad in robes of white. Jesus in mercy bring us To that dear land of rest Where sings the host of heaven Your glorious name to bless. - Blessing - Postlude Service Participants: Pastor Ken Mellon (Preacher), Rev. Prof. Mark DeGarmeaux (Organist)
