The State of the RV Industry
Today, we examine the state of the RV industry as it continues to perform at a higher level than we expected. We use a few articles from RVbusiness.com to help us understand what is driving the industry forward.
The New Golden Age Of Camping
The Dyrt CEO Kevin Long believes we are in the “new golden age of camping.” “The demand for camping has never been greater, but technology is making it easier to find camping, and property owners are rapidly expanding. As a result, campers have more options than ever before.”
Dyrt released a report finding that an estimated 84.8 million Americans went camping in 2023, and 5.5 million of those were first-time campers. This brings the total number of new campers since 2021 to more than 20 million.

RVing & Camping Is Multi-Generational
According to the latest Technavio market research report, the RV market is expected to grow by $32.03 billion from 2022 to 2027. Part of the reason could be the increasing adoption of RVs by different generations. RV manufacturers incorporate innovative elements into their products to provide a cost-effective utility combination for budget-conscious buyers. Moreover, buyers are looking for RVs with features like spacious refrigerators, TVs, and Wi-Fi, offering a unique level of comfort not found in other modes of transportation. RVs are favored by different generations of consumers, including baby boomers, millennials, and Gen X. Furthermore, the growing demand for RVs is prompting manufacturers to introduce new RV models, thereby expanding their appeal.

Lippert See’s OEM Manufacturing To Start Picking Up
Lillian Etzkorn, the CFO of Lippert, says, “If you look at March, we’re seeing RV OEMs increase some days production – which in some cases will be 20% for some of those. Others are flat. Others are just adding a few units a week to their production schedule,” Lippert said. “So, like we’ve said all along, we know what goes down must come up. And it feels like we’re starting to come off the bottom, at least in March we’ll certainly see a little more volume.”
