Part 1 – The Job
Recent guest, Jamie Rodriguez, put the challenge to Brandon after she interviewed with us on Beyond the Rut. She left her job, then told Brandon to be the next one to pursue his dream.
So…
Brandon got a new job, and shares how it came about. By the time you listen to this episode, he will have left his previous gig and transitioned into his new role. There is a need for professional growth, especially for Generation X. Beyond the Rut is about taking on the challenge of keeping out of the safe or comfort zone to get the most out of life and career.
Building relationships is important. The recent job transition for Brandon is no exception. Good relationships will challenge us when and where we need it. They’ll also open doors we were not expecting.
Part 2 – Sharing Goals, Creating Accountability, and Meeting Resistance
Brandon experienced accountability from Jamie by sharing his goals with her. Jerry, however, met resistance when he shared his goals to solo hike this Summer and ultimately through-hike the Appalachian Trail.
Many people shared stories of other people who tried and failed. His closest partner in life, Olivia, even shared concern for his very life begging him to not take the 26-mile round-trip.
