154 - Septemburst (Part I): Predator and Predator 2
It's here! Happy Septemburst! This month, you're in for a treat, as the eternal question is answered - What would happen to the minds of your two favourite podcasters if they were to subject themselves to a marathon of all 12 films in the Predator and Alien universe? From great dazzling heights, to extremely low lows, you're about to find out! This episode covers the first two films in the Predator franchise - ‘Predator’, and ‘Predator 2’. This week our drinking game rule comes to us from the wonder Emily Higgins of the Tasteless podcast. You can find her great show at https://www.tastelesspod.com/ Predator is a 1987 American science fiction action film directed by John McTiernan and written by brothers Jim and John Thomas. It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of an elite paramilitary rescue team on a mission to save hostages in guerrilla-held territory in Central America, who encounter the deadly Predator (Kevin Peter Hall), a technologically-advanced alien who stalks and hunts them down. Predator 2 is a 1990 American science fiction action film written by brothers Jim and John Thomas, directed by Stephen Hopkins, and starring Danny Glover, Ruben Blades, Gary Busey, María Conchita Alonso, Bill Paxton, and Kevin Peter Hall. It is the second installment of the Predator franchise, serving as a sequel to 1987's Predator, with Kevin Peter Hall reprising the title role of the Predator. Set ten years after the events of the first film, in Los Angeles, the film focuses on the Predator, a technologically advanced alien hunter, and the efforts of a disgruntled police officer and his allies to defeat the malevolent creature.
