Self-Awareness for Everyone

No Such Thing as a Quick Fix

December 13, 2019

Introduction:
Welcome to Awareness for Everyone, an exploration of Conscious Reality Creation, and living the best lives we can for ourselves. I am MJ Blehart, writer, blogger, editor, and 21st century philosopher. This is Episode 35 – No such thing as a Quick Fix
What is a Quick Fix?
Notions that alter consciousness, solve problems ASAP, and are instantaneous.
Easy concepts that don’t take much time or energy for making changes and getting things done quickly.
Super-easy to apply notions. A pill, a one-shot deal.
In the now now now culture of today, everyone wants the quickest fix possible.
From The Princess Bride: “Life is pain, highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something.” It may be a bit skeptical, but it’s not wrong about someone trying to sell you something.
Is there a quick fix?
Short answer: No. Long answer – nothing worth having is ever easy.
Things take time to change. Something that has been ongoing or in existence for decades is going to take some to undo or alter. Recognizing this is important.
Change is constant and inevitable.
Anyone can change things, but it takes work, effort, and time. This is a part of awareness and mindfulness.
Mindfulness and change
Taking intentional actions are necessary for change.
When you make a conscious effort to change or fix your life in any way, you need to allow that it takes time
Change is not static. Even when you have fixed something you will have to change it again. Mindfulness helps you to be better capable of handling this truth.
