Loose Skin? Thread Lifts Can Provide Subtle Results, but are they Predictable and Repeatable?

July 14, 2020

Until recently, the only way to reduce skin laxity—such as jowls and drooping cheeks—was through a surgical face lift or mini-lift. While injectables can restore lost volume, they cannot remove loose skin, and so a new type of procedure has been developed to fill in the gap between noninvasive facial rejuvenation and facelift surgery: The "thread lift."  While there are three types of threads used, they all involve the use of temporary sutures inserted under the skin, to pull the skin back slightly and lift the face or neck. In addition to to the subtle but visible lift, the threads activate the body's healing response and creates collagen.  But while the results can be fabulous, one doctor says they are not as consistent as Botox and Filler.  We talk to Dr. Samer Jaber about thread lifts, and the pro's and con's of using them.
