Don’t Wanna be Your Trained Monkey

Greetings & salutations…
And welcome to Another Cat’s Tale Podcast hosted by me your favorite little kitty … SassyCat or Cat for short.
WARNING: Listening to this may cause triggers. Subject matter is about the effects of borderline personality disorder symptoms on relationships, substance abuse, contains adult language.
In this episode I am talking with my Beloved about the previous nights activities.
I had gone out drinking with friends. I was having a wonderful at a local bar that was hosting a vinyl party. The dj was spinning all the old tines from back in the 80’s lots of club dancing tunes. I had drunk a rum bucket earlier at another bar, so I was feeling the buzz. I can be the life of the party but when something triggers me my emotions will accelerate rapidly to rage within seconds.
I suffer from Borderline Personality Disorder. A few of the symptoms are intense emotions, anger issues and unstable relationships. I don’t mind getting a little buzzed but I do not like being an intended victim of bar people getting me wasted on purpose so that they can enjoy any “show” that I may or may not knowingly put on in the bar.
I know I verbally abused my friend. Wish I hadn’t but I did. Knowing I have a mental illness which is the cause, he believes that it is still not an excuse to be used for bad behavior. Adding alcohol into my already unstable state of mind was not a good thing the end is that of an argument, hurt feelings and cracked foundation in a friendship.
My Beloved has always been able to assist me when sorting it all out. Listening to someone with BPD, just listening is the best assistance a partner or friend can do.
The conclusion of this is that I do need to come up with a “safe word or action” for my friend to give him time to process my impending verbal and emotional blowup. We are trying to work through some of my issues in addition to his understanding them; that my emotions can go to zero to 60 in seconds.
Thanks for listening guys.
