In a program that first aired October 21, 2003, Andrew Patner's guest is Finnish conductor Susanna Mälkki, who was in town for her highly-praised concert week with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra with a program of Sibelius, Thomas Adès, Stravinsky, and Debussy.  Ms. Malkki made her New York Philharmonic conducting debut last month.
