Trump Cuts To State Keep Money in Wrong Places, Says Rep. Ryan Clancy
In January, the federal Office of Management and Budget ordered a complete freeze on already-awarded federal grants. The decision threw all manner of programs into chaos, from critical health services, research programs, transportation infrastructure and child care.
After a series of lawsuits, the Trump Administration officially relented, rescinding its previous action. However, two months later, many state and community organizations are still waiting for their funding, and all are reeling from the government’s unexpected reneging on its signed contracts.
Wisconsin Assembly 19th District Representative Ryan Clancy wants to make sure that never happens again, and has introduced a new bill to create a stopgap against further federal cutoffs. Ryan Clancy spoke to Monday Buzz host Brian Standing from Milwaukee.
