ThriveTalk Episode 3: Holidays with the Grandkids; What to See & Where to Go
The grandkids are coming to town.
Now what?
A visit from grandkids is fun, noisy, messy and (c’mon, admit it) a little bit stressful. Throw the holidays into the mix and things can go sideways fast. Thrive magazine’s grandparent columnist Karen Shadrach always has great suggestions for ways to spend time with grandkids of all ages. Her conversation with Thrive editor Marie Elium focuses on holiday events for kids of all ages.
The key, Karen says, is to make things as simple as possible. Sure, a trip to downtown Cleveland to see the lights is fun, but so is decorating cookies or playing games at home. The bottom line: Kids want to spend time with someone who wants to spend time with them. Grandparents and grandkids… a perfect match.
Karen Shadrach writes Thrive’s Grammy-on-the-Go column and a blog for Thrive’s website. You can reach her at editor@northeastohiothrive.com.
