Nick Tann's Fresh Music Fix

Grimson, Keith Buckman, Masi Masi, Little Juke
Number 6 starting with an idyllic earworm from Grimson and I Made My Therapist Cry Today. The blurb says “NYC songwriter and animator Grimson turns a real−life horror story about his crying therapist into a frantic and alarmingly catchy tune” His explaination of the even reads ‘”I wanted to capture the rush of confusion and shock that I felt when I turned around to see my psychoanalyst quietly sobbing in her soft armchair. I had just finished telling a story about being on psychedelic mushrooms in the botanical gardens in Berlin. How I looked up at a gnarled gray tree that reminded me of British actor Bill Nighy, and how I felt more connected with that barren tree than any of the over-saturated colorful flowers that were so neatly organised” So there you are, He is go ahead enough to have an amazing website https://www.grimsonweb.com/which you should go a look at now!
I’ve been looking forward to playing Keith Buckman and Of the Low Weald and the Marsh since I first heard it a few weeks ago. As I explained, I met Keith at a songwriter’s forum I hosted a few years ago. It’s a golden nugget of a tune from a talented songwriter and performer. You won’t find much about him online but if you love this song as much as I do and want to hear more then go to his Bandcamp site https://keithbuckman.bandcamp.com/album/of-the-low-weald-and-the-marsh
Bradfor’s Masi Masi is up next with a funky anthemic She’s Trouble. It’s a multi layered slice of greatness this tune and fortunately “Masi Masi is hitting the road for a UK tour this April, bringing his dynamic live show to cities across the country. Tour dates and details will be announced soon via his social media pages, so fans should stay tuned for updates”. You will find out more from his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MasiMasiMusic/
Little Juke and Time On My Mind send us home with this deep and complex track. “
“Time On My Mind” marks another shift in gears for the band—a track they’ve come to love playing live. It’s about the urge to break out of the mundane routine and the idealisms that we are often subject to. More than just a song, it’s a call to do something with your life, embodying both the restless energy of breaking free and the determination to seek something greater.
