Celebrating 50 Years of Conservation: A Conversation with Water for Wildlife Leaders Gina Colovich and Travis Sweeney

In this special episode, we are honored to host Gina Colovich, Executive Director of the Water for Wildlife Foundation, and Travis Sweeney, President of the Board. As the organization commemorates its 50th anniversary (1975-2025), Gina and Travis share insights into their mission of providing essential water resources to sustain wildlife habitats across the western United States.​

A cornerstone of their conservation efforts is the renowned One Shot Antelope Hunt, held annually in Lander, Wyoming.This year's event, scheduled for September 17-20, 2025, marks the 85th iteration of this storied tradition. 

Special Event – Tonight! Join the Water for Wildlife Foundation this evening at the Wildlife Discovery Center (Evans Dahl Memorial Museum) to celebrate 50 years of wildlife conservation efforts. Enjoy refreshments and hors d’oeuvres while learning more about the organization's impactful work. This free event is open to the public and includes a door prize drawing for three Wine & Chocolate baskets.​ 5:30 - 7 pm at Water for Wildlife in Lander at 545 W Main.

Water for Wildlife has funded over 500 water projects in 12 western states, supporting both game and non-game species.By working with state and federal agencies, as well as other conservation organizations, they help ensure that wildlife has access to critical water sources, particularly in remote and arid regions.​
