I Choose Today

Episode 29 - I Choose Today to Be Transformed by Beauty from Chaos
In this episode, Mo explores how God has always brought beauty out of chaos—from the first moments of creation to the transformation He’s working in our lives today. Drawing from Genesis 1, Exodus 31, Ephesians 2:10, and Revelation 21, Mo traces a single divine thread: chaos → order → beauty → transformation → eternity.
Through Scripture, reflection, and personal story, you’ll see that the first person ever filled with the Holy Spirit—Bezalel—wasn’t called to preach or fight a battle, but to create beauty for God’s dwelling. That same Spirit now lives in us, empowering everyday acts of creativity, restoration, and rest that reflect the heart of the Master Artist.
- Genesis 1:2 (NRSVUE) — God’s Spirit hovering over the chaos
- Genesis 2:9 — “pleasant to the sight and good for food”
- Exodus 31:1–6 — Bezalel filled with the Spirit for artistry
- Ephesians 2:10 — We are God’s poiēma, His masterpiece
- Revelation 21:2–4 — The New Jerusalem: beauty fulfilled
Julian Adams, Terra Nova: The World Jesus Is Building (2021).
Julian explains that the Hebrew word ṭôv (“good”) in Genesis 1 means beautiful, excellent, delightful—not just “morally right.” He reminds us that God designed creation for both function and beauty, inviting humanity to extend Eden’s order and loveliness into the whole world. Mo draws on this insight to show that we are co-creators with God, called to extend His beauty even into chaos.
