The Original Medicines

The Medicine of Freediving
Hey there beautiful — This is Anneke and you are listening to the ‘Original Medicines Podcast’, in which we look for usual and unusual medicines for mental health.
In this podcast you can expect conversations about life and death. Through stories, mystical experiences, critical questions, and sometimes silence, where deeper layers of our existence can be unraveled — where we can find gems of insight and clues for healing. I investigate the relationship with each other as humans, with our inner parts and the earth with the aim of better understanding the transformation in which we collectively find ourselves.
Today’s guest is Darja.
I am super thrilled that Darja Tjioe is with us today! She broke the Dutch record of going underwater in the ocean — going 84 meters! We met at yoga studio The Inner Embassy in The Hague and I know that she is up to open up beautiful, deep topics of WATER as medicine, SILENCE as medicine and BREATH — especially breath HOLDING as medicine. This all relates in different ways to The Dark Night of the Soul — from her perspective as a free diver. Let’s dive!
