The 2 Minute Word
Stay in Your Lane
Luke 11:28
But Jesus answered, “But Jesus answered. Rather, how happy are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
Once upon a time there was a man who heard God’s and obeyed His instructions. God told him to dig one hole in a specific place. He dug and ug, day and night praying to the lord and dug the hole as God instructed.
He had been digging a long time when a second man came and started digging near him.
Within minutes the second man pulled out of his hole a diamond as big as his hand. The second man then threw down his shovel and left with his blessing, saying praise God.
The first immediately jumped out of the hole in the place that the lord had told him to dig and went to dig in the place that the second man had found his blessing.
He dug for years and found nothing. And then he died.
Upon entering heaven, he asked why God had him digging all those years for nothing. Peter was working the gate that day and said let me show you something.
They went back to the place that the Lord had told him to dig. Peter said stick your shovel in the hole one last time. The man said there is nothing there I assure you. Peter insisted that the man stick his shovel in the hole.
He stuck his shovel in the hole and heard a large click. The man then jumped down and started moving the dirt off what he thought was a huge stone.
He moved the dirt the stone shinned brightly. He bent down and tried to what appeared to be a boulder. It was a diamond that weighed as much as he did.
Peter said you wasted all that time trying to do what you saw someone else do, rather than dig where the lord told you to dig. Had you obeyed you would have received a huge blessing that was just one last shovel away.
This is Tris no H reminding you that the blessings that God has for you, are for you and no one else. So stay in your own lane, and do as the lord tells you to do. Because just as you turn away thinking maybe the Lord made a mistake, you may be turning away from a blessing bigger than you could ever imagine.
Peace
