Hasten to His Throne

1 John 4:19 Any translation

“We love because God first loved us.”

When I first read this verse Whitney Houston’s praise of the Lord popped in my mind.
In looking at her lyrics, to the song entitled “I love The Lord”, she sang in a manner that made you too want to yell I love the Lord. Listen to the words in this song of praise:
I love the Lord, He heard my cry, and pitied every groan. Long as I live when troubles rise I hasten to His throne. Actually that is the entire song. It doesn’t take a whole lot of 5 syllable words to praise the Lord.

Oh, I love the Lord, she sings I surely do love the Lord.
Long as I live and troubles rise I hasten to His throne.
When there is nowhere to go, I know I can run to you.
I can run to Jesus she says.
It’s also interesting that she uses the word “hasten to His throne” at least 12 times throughout the song. I hasten to His throne. I looked up the word “hasten” and the dictionary says:
Be quick to do something. Move hurriedly to his throne. And we approach God’s throne by prayer.

Almost as if she was leaving you a bit of instruction. I also thought it interesting that she says when “troubles rise”, not if, but when troubles rise. This means that in life troubles will rise, even for the person that truly loves the Lord. So when troubles rise, I to his throne.

One might even say that When you see trouble on the rise, you need to quickly see Jesus, because He will make it all right. When troubles rise, you don’t have to worry about trying to figure out by yourself or go see what momma and pookie and them say about the trouble. No! It says hasten to his throne.

This is Tris No H reminding you that God loves you, and when troubles rise, before you talk to anyone else about the trouble, about the bill you don’t see how you gone pay, about the legal mess, about the stupid thing that you caused that has now backfired all over your life, before you even try and talk to yourself about the troubles, hasten to his throne.

Talk to God about it, thanking Him in advance for the answer to the problem, the peace within the trouble, reminding Him you are His beloved and All is Well in your life.

Before you know what, after a very little while, you will have what you say, and it will be well.

Peace
