In our microwave world we expect everything to happen instantly, including God's changes in our life's. It doesn't work that way. We must learn to patiently walk through the valley, continuing to do what He has told us, until He tells us to do something different. I constantly wrestle with what God told me to do, and what the world would do. I continue to tell myself to be still and know God. He is never late.
