Ellis Miah was born in New York City, New York and was raised there and in Southern Florida. He loved growing up there because of the freedom and the culture of the area. He loved growing up spending a lot of time at the local mall where he loved the mall culture of Staten Island. Miami was where music really happened for him. It rocked his world! When he came back to New York he went to work making music professionally.

With over twenty years of experience in the music and entertainment industry, Ellis has a unique perspective on how things work and what it takes to build a career as a solo entrepreneur, relying solely on his skill set without a major team or affiliations.

Among his unforgettable contributions is the creation of the groundbreaking track “Read U Wrote,” a fixture in the cultural lexicon of RuPaul’s Drag Race and All Stars, captivating fans across the globe. Ellis has worked on hits for artists like BTS, Jennifer Lopez, Sia, Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, Big Freedia, Annie Lennox, Loleatta Holloway, and Yoko Ono. His songwriting efforts with Grammy-winning Siedah Garrett earned him a spot on Entertainment Weekly’s Best Christmas Albums list for his nine co-penned songs on RuPaul’s “Slay Belles” album. These songs continue to be featured annually on the TV Christmas special. As a featured songwriter on BTS’s international phenomenon album, Map of the Soul, Miah is diving into the ever-growing K-Pop and J-Pop markets, collaborating with writers, producers, and artists.

Anchored in Los Angeles, Ellis’s DJ sets are fixtures in legendary venues like The Abbey, Mickey’s, The Standard, Ace Hotel, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. His magnetic performances extend far beyond LA, leaving a lasting impression on cities such as Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, London, New York, and Miami with his electrifying shows. On the airwaves and dance floors, Morgan Page’s “Sweet Illusion” is receiving major DJ support, while on screens around the world, international pop star Belinda’s “Eden,” co-written by Miah, serves as the theme song for the Netflix hit show of the same name.
