The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – The Nation’s Report Card shows that 69% of fourth graders are reading below grade level, while 70% of eighth-grade students are also reading below grade level. Math is not faring much better, with 60% of fourth graders below grade level and 72% of eighth graders below their grade level.
