The Evolving Zero Trust Environment: Interview with Lou Eichenbaum, DOI [GovFuture podcast]

January 25, 2024

The concept of zero trust operates on the principle of “never trust, always verify”. This concept is becoming commonplace in the federal government. In this episode of the GovFuture podcast we interview Lou Eichenbaum. He is the Department of the Interior’s (DOI) Zero Trust Program Manager, Office of the CIO at DOI.

Lou sheds light on the implementation and evolution of the Zero Trust framework at the DOI. He also shares how his group stays up to date with evolving technologies to effectively mitigate risks. And how to maintain a strong cybersecurity posture. Additionally, Lou discusses how the shift to Zero Trust often involves rethinking traditional security models. He shares challenges the DOI encountered while transitioning to this architecture. And provides examples on how to address these challenges. We couldn’t have a discussion around cybersecurity without the topic of data security being discussed.

We’ve got great resources if you’re looking to get more insight and detail on the range of technology that we discussed in this podcast and other topics.
