How Reinvesting in US Chip Manufacturing will Impact AI: Interview with Adrienne Elrod, CHIPS [GovFuture Podcast]

August 29, 2023

In 2022 President Biden signed the bipartisan CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 into law. This law provides the Department of Commerce with $50 billion for a suite of programs to strengthen and revitalize the U.S. position in semiconductor research, development, and manufacturing. In this episode of the GovFuture podcast Adrienne Elrod, who is the Director of External and Government Affairs at the CHIPS Program Office, had the opportunity to share details about why the CHIPS program is important and how it supports the development and manufacturing of chips in the United States. In addition to manufacturing, the CHIPS program has the potential to impact other key innovation efforts such as AI, analytics, cybersecurity, quantum, and IT modernization.
