MEC plans—also known as “Minimal Essential Coverage” are a really interesting part of the health insurance world that can be a good fit, in some cases. They can serve as an augment to a major medical plan, or, in other cases, be a fit for our uninsured/underinsured employees that would otherwise have no coverage.
